Shu Yun-zhang Files
Shu Yun-Zhang (1886-1973) was first a teacher after his graduation from the Imperial University of Peking in 1912, then began working in the Bank of China in 1915. From 1915 to 1948, he held several key positions in different branches of the bank. In1948, Mr. Shu was elected to be a legislator and became a daily business manager of Chinatex Corporation. He moved to Taiwan in 1949 and planned to establish the Taiwan textile factory of Yong-Shin Industry Corporation. The Ministry of Economy also appointed Mr. Shu to be the Board President of Chinatex Corporation, planning to establish the Taiwan textile factory of the Chinatex Corporation. His wife, Mrs. Cheng-Qing Zhong, donated his old collections and archive documents to the IHP Archives after his passing in order to immortalize Mr. Shu’s spirit. The documents (283 in total) are categorized under 10 file titles, and the majority of these files are business files and personal correspondences.
