Collected Documents

In addition to housing IHP administrative documents and those of IHP research fellows past and present, the Archives has been actively seeking out archival materials outside of these sources.
Our prominent and most representative collections of this type include those of Shu-chi Chuang (1920–2015), the first female practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine in Taiwan; Dr. Rin Hsien (1925–2016) of the Department of Psychiatry, National Taiwan University Hospital; Tainan District Agricultural Research and Extension Station, MOA, from the period of Taiwan under Japanese colonial rule; and Academician Ping-ti Ho (1917–2012)—each of which contains over one thousand items.
Others, despite being smaller in scale, likewise possess immeasurable research value: the collection of contracts and other materials of the family of Lan-ying Ku; documents concerning student Chen Baojun (?–?) of the Imperial University of Peking; information on overseas Chinese collected by Chien-shiung Wu (1912–1997); and the personal collections and documents of prominent military figures such as Chen Yinji (1898–1975), Qiu Qingquan (1902–1949), and Qiu Mingdong (1913–2004).
