Introduction

General Qiu Qingquan (courtesy name Yu’an, 1902–1949) of the Republic of China Army fought in the Battle of Kunlun Pass and the Battle of Northern Burma and Western Yunnan, as well as participating in the Chinese Civil War, during which he was killed in the Huaihai campaign. The contents of this collection, which was originally held by his second brother Qiu Mingdong (1913–2004), can largely be divided into three categories: the personal artifacts of General Qiu, such as shoulder emblem, party member certificate, appointment papers, and both official and personal documents; correspondences and documents pertaining to Qiu Mingdong’s inquiry into the burial of General Qiu; and related books, including Works of Qiu Qingquan compiled and published by Qiu Mingdong,  Warrior of the Nation: Qiu Qingquanauthored for General Qiu by his second brother, and Memorial Anthology for the Late General Qiu Qingquan with contributions by numerous authors.
