Introduction

The collection of vinyl records held by the Archives, totaling 411 items, were purchased by the Linguistics Department of the early IHP. They were published by Heny Holt and Company from 1943–1946 and are all related to language learning, namely the following sixteen languages according to their labels: French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Turkish, German, Russian, Dutch, Hindustani, Norwegian, Greek, Japanese, Burmese, Malay, and Thai. A number of the records are accompanied by textbooks in paperback.
