The Archives, IHP, has preserved two correspondence registers from 1949 and 1950, documenting IHP communications during our relocation from China to Taiwan. These records include details about the senders and recipients, as well as dates and brief descriptions of the matters being discussed. During this period, the IHP maintained correspondence with Academia Sinica offices in Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Chongqing, as well as with the Commercial Press in Shanghai and the China Foundation for the Promotion of Education and Culture. While based in Yangmei, Taiwan, the IHP primarily communicated with its Taipei office, focusing on requests for the allocation and replenishment of supplies, communications which reflect the economic hardships faced by civil servants at the time. Additionally, sender and recipient information highlight the locations of various scholars, providing insight into their life and career decisions during the wartime period.
